The Florida A&M women's basketball team is set to return home to the Al Lawson Center on Saturday, where they will face off against the Alabama A&M Bulldogs at 2 pm. The Rattlers are currently sitting at a record of 3-15 and 1-6 in the SWAC, and are looking to snap a two-game losing streak.
The Rattlers' last outing was a 72-51 loss to Jackson State. Despite the loss, Florida A&M's defense put in a strong performance, holding Jackson State to only 20 percent shooting from beyond the arc and 40 percent from the field. Four Rattlers scored in double figures, led by Dylan Horton with 12 points and two steals, followed by Ivet Subirats with 12 points and three steals, and Ahriahna Grizzle with 12 points and four assists.
Scouting the Bulldogs, they come into the game with a record of 8-9 and 6-1 in the SWAC. In their last game against Prairie View, three Bulldogs finished in double figures, led by Amani Free with 23 points, four rebounds, and a 4-for-7 performance from behind the arc. Toni Grace added 22 points and five rebounds, and Darian Burgin finished with 13 points and eight boards.
For the Rattlers, Dylan Horton ranks fourth in the SWAC in steals per game (2.19), fifth in free throw percentage (79.9), and third in points per game (17.0). Ahriahna Grizzle ranks fifth in steals per game (2.07) and seventh in free throw percentage (78.4). Ivet Subirats also ranks sixth in steals per game (2.06). Skylar Baltezegar ranks fifth in the SWAC in blocks per game (1.2) and leads the Rattlers with 75 total rebounds, averaging 4.7 per game.
